On 14 January 2026, Ayline Heursen, Vuslat Şeker, and Lonneke Boels presented at Session 21 of the Paderborn ProDaBi Colloquium on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in School. Their talk, “Bridging Research and Practice: Integrating Eye-Tracking Insights into Teacher Education on Students’ Misinterpretation,” introduced how the Eye-Teach-Stats e-learning course supports pre- and in-service teachers in developing diagnostic skills through eye-tracking vignettes.
The team shared preliminary findings from several vignettes, focusing on how teachers reason about and interpret students’ misinterpretations of statistical graphs such as histograms and dotplots. The session offered an opportunity to connect the project’s research with the wider ProDaBi community working on data science and AI education.
