The manual is written for teacher educators who run the Eye-Teach-Stats course with pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers or student teachers. It gives the theoretical and pedagogical background of the course and practical guidance for facilitating the five modules. It is not a participant handout.

It covers the theoretical background (professional competence, systematic errors and their underlying conceptual difficulties, eye-tracking as evidence of student reasoning), the eye-tracking vignette format, the four graph types in the course (dotplots, histograms, case-value plots and boxplots) with the systematic errors addressed, and the instructional design of the course based on the 4C/ID model.

The practical part describes implementation formats, a recommended course sequence, how to facilitate synchronous group meetings, how to work through a first vignette together, how to guide individual work in MaMpf, and how to use the discussion slides and guiding questions.
